Public transport on Texel
Texelhopper is a mix of a fixed-route bus services and a minibus service, taking you from A to B across the whole island, from early in the morning to late in the evening. Since July 22, 2018, Connexxion has been providing public transport on Texel.From now on it is possible to travel with the OV-Chipkaart. It also remains possible to buy separate travel tickets.
How does it work?
With Texelhopper, you can travel to and from an impressive 130 pick-up points spread across the whole island. These pick-up points are shown on the map. Is your place of departure or destination more than 500m away from a bus stop? If so, Texelhopper will pick you up at the door and take you to your destination!
You will be travelling on the regular bus service (route 28) or by minibuses that run on a booking basis. Route 28 is an hourly, fixed-route service.
Make a booking?
You only have to book if you want to use the minibus service. Bookings must be made at least one hour before departure. No booking is required for the regular bus service. You can book online via the website or by telephone via the Texelhopper switchboard: 0222 784 000.
