De Krim Texel: Unique Texel leisure company
The original founders can be pleased. In half a century, De Krim Texel has grown from a campsite in De Cocksdorp to a leisure company with 9 sites, spread across the island. A powerful player in the tourist sector, one that is of major economic importance to the island. De Krim Texel is currently the biggest provider of leisure facilities on Texel. What’s more, it is a sound organisation, with stable management, a healthy balance sheet and profits, and is a major Texel employer. A company where quality is paramount.
In 2020
In 2020, N.V. Exploitatiemaatschappij De Krim is a thriving company. The management consists of a Supervisory Board and a Management Board consisting of four directors; general director Iwan Groothuis, commercial director Jolanda Kamphuis, operational director Corrie Setz and financial director Bart van Tongeren.
De Krim Texel has grown significantly in recent years, both in turnover and in result. Our company has a unique ownership structure. A structure that guarantees independence with regard to our national competitors and with an eye for Texel society. Our continued focus on quality - in services, internal organisation, accommodations and employees - enables us to achieve growth and to exceed our guests’ expectations. We will continue to innovate and invest in order to maintain our unique position as an independent Texel company. Because it is precisely these factors that enable us to be loyal to our mission and to contribute to the development of Texel.
We do it together!
Our employees are the driving force behind De Krim Texel. They are passionate and aim for optimal guest satisfaction. That started as far back as 1969, when the first manager couple, Mr. and Mrs. Monen, ran camping De Krim together. This passion for hospitality continues to motivate Wilma, Rico, Manon, Frank, Mirjam, Maren, Linda and their more than 500 colleagues. 50 years back in time
A lot has happened in 50 years. Things did not always go smoothly. We often faced challenges. But our perseverance is strong. We are incredibly proud of the healthy organisation currently in place. We worked hard together on our 50-year journey, but mainly enjoyed many laughs and wonderful moments.

- Founding of N.V. Exploitatiemaatschappij De Krim Texel
- Launch of Camping 'De Krim'
- 28,598 overnight stays
1985
- Expansion of the campsite by 6 hectares including the necessary infrastructure and new sanitary facilities
- Opening of the new centre with reception, supermarket, catering, laundry, vending machine hall and additional sports and recreation facilities
- Turnover € 464,000
1995
- Bungalow park with 498 bungalows completed
- Celebration of our 25th anniversary
- Start of construction on the Texel golf course

2008
- Acquisition of Bungalow Park 't Hoogelandt
- Over 30 leaseholders acquired the leasehold land
- Start of construction of 30 attached family villas

2015
- De Krim and Texel camping sites merged on 1 January
- Start of renovation of the centre facilities at Camping Loodsmansduin
- Installation of seasonal pitches at Camping Kogerstrand

- First-year of Event Hall Texel
- Construction of 48 very luxurious holiday villas at Villa Park De Koog

Love for Texel
We have felt a responsibility for the island of Texel from the very beginning. Our memorandum of association literally states: ‘Their goal is to operate this site as a leisure facility and thus improve the livelihoods of the residents of Texel and Eierland in particular’. This philosophy is still very much alive. This is manifested, among other things, in the choice of suppliers, social personnel policy, support for social and cultural activities on Texel and investments in sustainability. Care for our environment: that is our "Love for Texel"
