20 and 21 May, two benefit concerts will be played in the little white church of Den Hoorn to raise money for the shelter of Ukrainian refugees on Texel. Trio hART will perform beautiful music pieces by Bach, Fauré, Hummel, Weber, but also works by Dutch, Ukrainian, Polish and Georgian composers. The mayor will give a talk prior to the concert, after which the three Dutch top musicians with Ukrainian, Polish and Russian roots will start playing.
Trio hART consists of the Polish flutist Inez Popko, the Ukrainian-Dutch cellist Katja Dirven and the Russian-Dutch clover player Nadia Askarova. Inez Popko has performed in concerts in Europe, Asia and the United States and has won several prizes at competitions in Poland. She is 'artist in residence' at the Polish Embassy in the Netherlands. Katja Dirven won the top prize at the Lysenko Music Competition in Kiev. She is a member of the orchestras Sinfonia Rotterdam and Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland. In addition, she teaches at Rotterdam's Hellendaal Music Institute and participates in the cello festival in Dordrecht. Nadia Askarova has won several international top prizes, including the Rubinstein Competition in Paris and the Wiener Klassiker Competition in Budapest. She founded the Jeugd Klavieren Centrum Nederland in Voorburg where children from the age of 7 can take lessons.
