Plenty of lambs in the spring holidays
February sees the start of the lambing wave that floods Texel every year. During the spring holiday, the first lambs are already walking in the meadows. Want to take a closer look at lambs or even cuddle them? Then the following activities are highly recommended!
Go outside!
January and February are the months of snowdrops on Texel. These beautiful little flowers came to Texel from France in the 1960s and have been decorating the Texel woods ever since. All put on your warm clothes and walk among the snowdrops in 't Bossie on the Hoge Berg. This highest point on Texel is located between Den Burg and Oudeschild. But you will also find them in abundance in De Dennen, a nature reserve near De Koog.
Next to the Krim forest in De Cocksdorp is Krim Natuuravontuur, an educational outdoor centre where children learn all about Texel's nature.
Of course, a visit to the beach should not be missed. Take a lovely walk on the beach, collect special finds and turn them into a unique work of art.
Doing fun things regardless of the weather
